ABSES HATI PADA INFEKSI HEPATITIS B
Abstract
Liver abscess is a form of liver infection by microorganisms from gastrointestinal system. Patients with immunosuppressant therapy, malignancy and diabetes mellitus have a risk of having a liver abscess. A 57-year-old man patient with clinical symptoms leads to a liver abscess, which having complaint of abdominal pain in the right upper quadrant, fever, malaise, anorexia, cough, and shortness of breath accompanied by chest pain. Ultrasonography shows an impression of a heart abscess of this patient. Laboratory tests shows an increase of SGOT and SGPT levels as well as positive HBsAg which indicates that patients are infected by Hepatitis B virus. Hepatitis B is a disease that can worsen the condition of the immune system. Immune deficiency is one of the factors causing liver abscess.
