Hubungan Antara Big Five Personality dan Internal Locus of Control Dengan Self Directed Learning
Abstract

Abstract:This study aims to find out how much big five personality traits and internal locus of control contribute to self-directed learning in medical students. This research adopted quantitative with survey techniques. The population in this study were students of the Faculty of Medicine Universitas Cenderawasih in the first and third semester of the 2018/2019 academic year as many as 85 students. The data analyzed with using three measuring instruments, namely: 1) Self Directed Learning Instrument (SDLI) developed by Cheng, et al (2010), 2) The Big Five Inventory (BFI) developed by John et al (1999), and 3) Internal Control Index (ICI) developed by Duttweiler (1984) and also used multiple linear corelations to analyze the data. The result of the study shows that big five personality traits and internal locus of control together had a significant relationship to self-directed learning (p = 0.00 where p <0.05), and contributed 37.6%. The biggest contribution of the big five personality dimension to self-directed learning is oppeness (B: 0.646) followed by conscientiousness (B: 0.387).
