PENGARUH PEMBERIAN DOSIS PUPUK ORGANIK PADAT BERBAHAN DASAR KOTORAN SAPI TERHADAP PERTUMBUHAN SEMAI MAHONI (Swietenia mahagoni (L) Jacq)

Abstract


An important factor to determine the success of planting mahogany is the availability of quality seeds and the provision of organic fertilizer as a planting medium. Some of the nutrients that limit the growth of mahogany are N, P, and K. Nutrient content in cattle pens varies, namely having a large quantity, so it requires expensive transportation costs and the speed is not limited by plants for longer. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of giving a dose of organic fertilizer based on cow dung on the growth of mahogany (Swietenia mahagoni) seedlings. This study also used a completely randomized design method (CRD), which consisted of four treatments, namely P0 = no organic fertilizer (control), P1 = 1 kg soil + 100g solid fertilizer, P2 = 1 kg soil + 200g solid fertilizer, P3 = soil 1 kg + 300g solid fertilizer, each treatment was repeated 9 times, so that in total there were 36 seedlings. The treatment that gave the best response to growth in height, seedling diameter and leaf number of mahogany seedlings was P3 treatment = 1 kg soil + 300g solid fertilizer. The average result of the increase in height of mahogany seedlings was P3 = 12.92 cm. The result of increasing the average diameter is P3 = 1.43mm. The average result of increasing the number of mahogany seedlings was P3 = 5.1 pieces.
