Abstract


The structure and composition of vegetation in an area are influenced by other ecosystem components that interact with each other, so that vegetation that grows naturally in the region is actually a reflection of the interaction of various environmental factors and can experience significant changes due to anthropogenic influences. The purpose of this study was to determine the structure and composition of vegetation in the protected forest area of the Ayuma River region in its role as a barrier to erosion in the village of Tamarenja, Sindue District, Donggala Regency. This research was conducted in December to February 2019 in the Ayuma River Protected Forest. This study uses the path with swath placement intentionally (purposive sampling) for vegetation analysis. The collected data is analyzed by the important value index (INP). The results showed that stratification of vegetation was vertically upstream, middle and downstream and had strata with 4 levels, namely strata B, C, D and E. The vegetation composition had 330 species from 59 families. The types of vegetation that dominate the upstream, middle and downstream areas of the protected forest area of the Ayuma River are the upstream parts of Ficussp. IVI 86.54%, of the tengah. FicusampelasBurm.F. (Orchidaceae) INP 95.39% and downstream of Litseasp. (Lauraceae) INP 75.40%.
