IMPROVING SOCIAL SCIENCE LEARNING OUTCOMES THROUGH SNOWBALL TYPE OF COOPERATIVE LEARNING MODEL THROWING STUDENTS OF CLASS IV INTEGRATED CIVIL MODEL STATE ELEMENTARY SCHOOL
Abstract
This study aims to determine the extent to which the results of the teacher's efforts by applying the learning cycle model in improving students' understanding of concepts and process skills in Social Science lessons for Class IV students.
This research begins with exploring the problem, formulating the problem, determining research questions, research objectives, making action plans for the first cycle using the Snowball Throwing Type model in learning. Developmental data obtained through attitude observation and evaluation of learning outcomes. The instrument in this study was the researcher himself who was equipped with a Student Worksheet instrument, an attitude observation sheet. Based on the results of the analysis of the implementation of the Snowball Throwing Type model in social studies lessons, it is illustrated that: 1) the use of the Snowball Throwing Type Cooperative method shows an increase in student learning outcomes that can be observed between cycles from an increasing cycle; 2) the increase is followed by student achievement, students' self-confidence activities using the Snowball Throwing Type Cooperative method; 3) improve student process skills for all students, still needs to be continued in the third cycle.Keywords
