Analisis Kemampuan Kognitif Siswa Kelas VII SMP Negeri 19 Palu dalam Pembelajaran Fisika pada Materi Kalor

Abstract


The cognitive aspect is the main aspect in the educational curriculum and is a benchmark for assessing children's development which refers to the process of knowing as well as to the knowledge itself. This study aims to describe the cognitive abilities of 7th graders of SMP Negeri 19 Palu in learning physics on the topic of heat. This research is a qualitative research with a case study design. Data were obtained through student answer sheets in the form of cognitive ability tests and interviews. Based on the results of the students' cognitive ability tests of achievement at the level of analysis C1, C2 and C3, it shows that the cognitive abilities of students have achieved 54% which was still in the moderate category. The results of the analysis of test data for cognitive aspects of C1 were 74%, for cognitive aspects of C2 were 62%, and for cognitive aspects of C3 were 42%. In other words, the cognitive abilities of 7th grade students of SMP Negeri 19 Palu in learning physics on the topic of heat on each cognitive aspect are significantly different.
