DEVELOPING MECHANICS WRITING OF THE TENTH GRADE STUDENTS THROUGH DESCRIPTIVE TEXT

Abstract


This research aimed at developing mechanics writing of the tenth grade students of SMA Negeri 3 Biromaru through descriptive text. The research used pre-experimental research design. The population was the tenth grade students,Class A, and the sample was all the populationconsisting of 20 students. The data were collected through observation and tests: pre-test and post-test. The observation was conducted to get information on the teaching and learning process in the classroom while the pre-test and the post-test were used to find out the improvement of the students’ writing skill before and after the treatment. The research found that the t-counted was 5.287. By applying 0.05 level of significance and the 20-1=19 degree of freedom, it is found that t-table was 1.729. It shows that t-counted was greater than the t-table. In conclusion, descriptive text is effective to developthe mechanics writing of the tenth grade students of SMA Negeri 3 Biromaru.
