Focus and Scope

Agroland: The Agricultural Sciences Journal (Agroland: The Agr. Sci. J.) is an Open Journal System published by Tadulako University and Indonesian Society for Major in Agriculture (PISPI), is published twice a year in June and December. This journal provides a multi-disciplinary and international platform in which young and senior researchers can present their work on all aspects of tropical agricultural to other researchers, policy makers and professionals.

The journal welcomes primary research papers, reviews and short communications on tropical Agriculture research. Subject areas suitable for publication include, but are not limited to the following fields: Agronomy & Crop Science, Agribusiness, Agriculture economics, Agriculture Engineering, Agriculture genomics, Genetic & Plant Breeding, Horticulture, Hydrology, Bioclimatology, Plant protection, Plant biochemistry and biotechnology, Seed technology and research, Soil science research, Soil restoration, Weed biology, Water management.

Peer Review Process

Agroland: The Agricultural Sciences Journal (Agroland: The Agr. Sci. J.) will publish the only paper strictly following Agroland International guidelines and manuscript preparation. Those papers are read by editorial members (upon field of specialisation) and will be screened by Associate Editor to meet necessary criteria of Agroland International publication. Manuscripts will be sent to two peer-reviewers based on their historical experience in reviewing manuscript or based on their field of specialivation. Agroland International has reviewing forms in order to keep same items reviewed by two reviewers. Then editorial board will make a decision upon the reviewers comments or advice. Reviewers will give their assessment on originality, clarity of presentation, contribution to the field/science, Agroland International has three kind of decisions:

  • Accepted, as it is;
  • Accepted by Minor Revisions (let authors revised with stipulated time);
  • Accepted by Major Revisions (let authors revised with stipulated time);
  • Rejected (generally, on grounds of outside of scope and aim, major technical description problems, lack of clarity of presentation).

However, Agroland International editorial board will suggest to author submit their manuscript to another journal if those manuscripts (based on experience of editorial board) are more suitable in other specific journal.

Before publishing, it is required to obtain written confirmation from authors in order to acquire copyrights for papers published in the journal.  Authors must sign the Transfer Copy Right form as follows: The undersigned hereby transfer any and all rights in and to the paper including without limitation all copyrights to Agroland: The Agricultural Sciences Journal. The undersigned hereby represents and warrants that the paper is original and that he/she is the author of the paper, except for material that is clearly identified as to its original source, with permission notices from the copyright owners where required. The undersigned represents that he/she has the power and authority to make and execute this assignment. This agreement is to be signed by at least one of the authors who have obtained the assent of the co-author(s) where applicable.

This journal provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge.

This journal utilizes the LOCKSS system to create a distributed archiving system among participating libraries and permits those libraries to create permanent archives of the journal for purposes of preservation and restoration. More...

Agroland: The Agricultural Sciences Journal is the normal channel for publication of papers on plant science such as Agronomy & Crop Science, Agribusiness, Agriculture economics, Agriculture Engineering, Agriculture genomics, Genetic & Plant Breeding, Horticulture, Hydrology, Bioclimatology, Plant protection, Plant biochemistry and biotechnology, Seed technology and research, Soil science research, Soil restoration, Weed biology, Water management.  Manuscripts reporting experimentation or research in field crops will be accepted for review as papers.

Faculty of Agriculture University of Tadulako in collaboration with Indonesian Society for Major In Agriculture (PISPI) as Agroland the Agricultural Science Journal publisher take its duties of guardianship over all publishing process and we recognize our ethical and other responsibilities.

We are committed to ensuring that advertising, reprint or other commercial revenue has no impact or influence on editorial decisions. In addition, Faculty of Agriculture University of Tadulako or Indonesian Society for Major in Agriculture (PISPI and Editorial Board will assist in communications with other journals and/or publishers where this is useful and necessary.

Disclosure and conflicts of interest

All authors should disclose in their manuscript any financial or other substantive conflict of interest that might be construed to influence the results or interpretation of their manuscript. All sources of financial support for the project should be disclosed. Examples of potential conflicts of interest which should be disclosed include employment, consultancies, stock ownership, honoraria, paid expert testimony, patent applications/registrations, and grants or other funding. Potential conflicts of interest should be disclosed at the earliest stage possible.

 

Originality and plagiarism

The authors should ensure that they have written entirely original works, and if the authors have used the work and/or words of others that this has been appropriately cited or quoted. Plagiarism takes many forms, from 'passing off' another's paper as the author's own paper, to copying or paraphrasing substantial parts of another's paper (without attribution), to claiming results from research conducted by others. Plagiarism in all its forms constitutes unethical publishing behaviour and is unacceptable.
